Zurich Flyers 14 vs 8 Lucerne Lakers
Although team Zurich Flyers didn't come with their strongest players, their large roster full of quality players made them seem as favourites. Team Lucerne Lakers didn't give them anything for free and who knows what would happen if Merlin Eisele from Lucerne wouldn't double faulted on deciding point. The match score could have been 7:8. After Cameron Alexander won this important match, Flyers won 5 out of 8 matches and secured their first victory 14:8. Even though Lucerne Lakers came without their strongest player, they left a very good impression.
Zurich Lions 19 vs 3 St Gallen Bears
In second match of the day, have Zurich Lions as home team faced St Gallen Bears. St Gallen has a long history in running their University Tennis Team. Bears came with the team strengthen by 4 new players. Even though Bears were fighting hard and did not give Lions any point for free, Lions were in control of the match from the beginning until the end. Lions won their first match 19:3.

pathway for juniors
It's all about creating opportunities. Swiss juniors lack competition of similar age and playing level, encounter and chance to compare with their international peers. University tennis centres should partially solve these issues by providing top local U16-U18 juniors with opportunity to compete / train with university team players on regular basis and for free!
GETTING READY for 2022
The year 2022 will be a turning point for university tennis in Switzerland. We expect to have 2-3 strong University teams from Switzerland which will be joined by one top university team from each of the surrounding countries.
